Karaoke Speakers
Singing like a rock star
Not all speakers are designed to produce the best vocal sounds and you’ll specifically want a Karaoke speaker to make your performance sound great. There’s a big difference between your everyday surround sound home speaker system and a Karaoke speaker.
The vocal clarity offered by a Karaoke speaker will guarantee that the true quality of your voice will ring through. With a surround sound system, the frequencies of a live vocal performance may overwhelm the speakers and will come across as distorted. Karaoke speakers also offer controls that allow you to eliminate feedback.
Combining Home Theatre and Karaoke
Since most home theatre speaker systems can’t handle the high frequency of live vocal performances, you’ll end up blowing out your tweeters. Since Karaoke has increased in popularity in North America and systems are now found in many homes, speaker manufacturers have moved towards combining a home theatre system with Karaoke capabilities.
The trick to combining home theatre and Karaoke is tweeter protection. Stronger circuits that protect the tweeters from high frequency will prevent a live performance from overwhelming the speaker. With this added protection you’ll be able to enjoy your songs in surround sound and really wow your audience!
Subwoofers
While the high frequency of live vocal performances is a problem for most regular home speakers, the majority of Karaoke speakers neglect the lower frequencies that add to the full sound of your performance. In order to clearly hear the full range of your song you’ll want to add a subwoofer to your speaker system.
If you get the right subwoofer you’ll experience the bass of your performance as you never have before! You have to make sure that you get a good quality sub or you’ll risk distorting your performance with wavering bass and overwhelming low frequencies. However, with the right subwoofer you’ll get the full effect of tones you may never have heard before. Your performance will sound professional and you’ll be ready to take your show right to the club.
Speaker Combos
The easiest way to stock your Karaoke system is to get a speaker combo. You can purchase speakers with mixers, amplifiers and microphones built right into the box. These combos tend to be portable and easy to use – perfect for the Karaoke star who isn’t interested in learning how to professionally mix a performance.
The speakers in these combos don’t tend to be as powerful as some of the individual speakers you can purchase. However, most will have controls that allow you to adjust the sound to your liking. This sound control may even include a bass control that provides a little bit of the low frequency quality you find with a subwoofer. You’ll have to sacrifice a little bit of sound with a Karaoke speaker combo, but you’ll get a lot of convenience in return.
