Karaoke Software
Turning your PC into a song machine
PC Karaoke is quickly becoming a favorite past time for the computer generation. It’s easy and cheap – all you need is your home computer and an internet connection! Of course the most popular form of PC Karaoke is online. There’s a ton of sites that’ll let you sing along to available tracks or even record your performances and share them with other members. However, it’s very easy to take your performances offline too.
Windows and Mac
You can download a number of different Karaoke players and MIDI readers to your Windows or Mac software. Once you have the player installed you can download different types of music files (typically MIDI or MP3), attach your microphone to the computer and sing or record performances. Some of these players can even be downloaded as freeware or shareware so you can take your performances offline for free!
When you install a player on your PC, you’re giving yourself unlimited access to your music files. You can keep thousands of tracks on your player, sorting them by genre, popularity or any other category of your choice. A player makes your PC Karaoke library completely custom-built and you can include all your favorite tracks. It’s also more private than singing online and can be used to fuel a home Karaoke party.
You can also record your own performances so that you can share them with others, burn them onto a CD or simply keep track of your progress with the songs.
Make Your Own Karaoke
It can be really frustrating when you’re looking for a certain song for your performance and you just can’t find it. The solution to the problem is making your own Karaoke tracks!
You can download a variety of different software off of the internet (you can also purchase the software on disc if you prefer) that allows you to remove vocal tracks from recorded music. That way, you have the instrumental track available to you at any time.
The tracks can be taken from a CD or an MP3 file. All you have to do is print off the lyrics to the song or download them onto a slide show and you have your own homemade PC Karaoke!
However, when it comes to this type of software, you have to be cautious of licensing laws. Most Karaoke music is sold using a replica of a song recorded by another artist ‘in the form of’ the original artist. This is because it’s difficult to get the license required to release recorded music without the voice track.
Voice removal software will always come with a disclaimer that insists it’s to be used only in private and the instrumental track shouldn’t be recorded. You should be aware of any laws of licensing or copyright when you’re using Karaoke software to make your own music.
